Broadly speaking, there are two pumps used in a typical borehole installation. A submersible pump is inserted down the borehole and suspended between 5 and 10 metres from the bottom of the hole. This pushes water to the surface and into a storage tank. A second pump is an above-ground pump used close to the water storage tank to create pressure in your taps. We set up the pumps to work automatically (controlled by electrical circuits and relays) to ensure a steady water supply.
